Last week, more than 30 Heaven Hill employees and interns gathered at Perry Elementary in the California neighborhood for a meaningful day of service. In collaboration with Metro United Way, the team assembled 400 backpacks and 50 teacher packs, ensuring that students and teachers alike are equipped with the necessary resources for a successful school year. During Perry Elementary’s open house, these backpacks filled with essential school supplies were distributed to students, along with care packages for teachers and staff.
This initiative is part of Heaven Hill’s broader Spirited Neighbor Initiative, which aims to support the California neighborhood and other West Louisville communities near the company’s Bernheim Distillery. Through this effort, Heaven Hill continues to engage with the community and strives to strengthen its support and partnerships. This event was a fun way for Heaven Hill to celebrate National Intern Day, give back to the community, and ensure that many students and teachers at Perry Elementary start the year off right.
Local media outlets took notice, helping to amplify the story and broaden its reach. WLKY (CBS), WDRB (FOX), and WAVE (NBC) all covered the story. To share in this success, here are some highlights from the coverage:

In addition to this impactful day of service, Heaven Hill will soon announce the first round of Spirited Neighbor grants, contributing an additional $25,000 to further support local initiatives. This continued dedication underscores Heaven Hill’s ongoing commitment to its community partners and its desire to create authentic relationships with its neighbors.
